Restraint Registration Details
Extended Civil Restraint Order (ECRO)
An Extended Civil Restraint Order (ECRO) is issued when a litigant persistently makes applications or brings claims which are totally without merit. The order restrains the individual from bringing any action or making any applications in specified courts (often the High Court or specific county courts) concerning any matter relating to or arising out of the proceedings in which the order was made, unless prior permission is granted.
